Linked here is the common core lesson format that we follow.
Below are some other lesson plans that I have designed and developed.
Each lesson plan is linked to the title of the lesson.
Abstract, Semi Abstract, and Realism
In this lesson the students were introduced to three different art techniques, Realism, Abstract, and Semi Abstract. After looking at a PowerPoint presentation and seeing examples the students were to choose an image from a magazine and separate their paper in three different ways. The students were to draw a large image and then choose which section of their paper would be abstract, semi abstract, and realistic. After they drew their preliminary sketch they would recieve a larger piece of paper to complete their final project. Once drawn on the larger paper they would choose three different media to apply to their project.
In this lesson the students were to choose an image of themselves, a family member, or a pet and upload it to photo editing software. Once they had it uploaded they were to edit it in a way that changed the colors of the image drastically. They are to then print the image and use a grid to draw their image in a larger scale. Once they have their image on the larger paper they are shown how to apply oil pastel. They are shown how to blend and layer different colors to achieve different colors.
This lesson was a two part lesson on cubism. The first lesson was an introduction of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, as well as the demonstration of a camoflauge cubism drawing. The second lesson consisted of a Picasso inspired sculpture, made from a wire hanger, block of wood, and nylon stocking. During these two lessons the students had a better understanding of the abstract style of art.
